A heart that desires God
Begin
✠ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful. Kindle in me the fire of Your love. Open my mind, purify my desires, and make me ready to follow wherever You lead.
Jesus promises that the Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask.Scripture is presented as a brief devotional summary. Read the cited passage in your preferred Catholic Bible when possible.
Reflect
Remain with the Word
The first gift is desire itself. We do not summon the Spirit by effort. We open the door to the One already given in Baptism and ask for a deeper welcome.
Let us pray
Come, Holy Spirit. Awaken holy desire in me. Clear away distraction and self-reliance. Teach me to receive Your presence with simplicity and to want what draws me closer to Jesus.
Come, Holy Spirit, renew Your gifts in us.
Carry it into the day
Pray slowly three times: “Come, Holy Spirit.” Leave silence after each prayer.

Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
✠ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
